I just came across this amazing and super cool website: http://www.messynessychic.com/
Its so refreshing and most of all so visually and literally 'Literary' that i am glad to share one of the articles published- http://www.messynessychic.com/2013/07/30/lost-in-time-groovy-afghanistan/
So many times I've come across girls my age or women in their late 20's- early 30's to be so vague about issues pertaining to mankind or even for 'women' themselves, that I would instantly always pity myself for knowing only a few women of strength!
And, the fact that today's young, modern educated woman is so conscious only about her body-image is disturbing! Where are all those thinkers? The same gutsy girls who would make themselves heard, loud and clear without being labelled as 'too modern?'
Last night, I was with a girl friend and a guy friend in a coffee shop around midnight after witnessing the chaotic energy and goodness of food at Mohammad Ali Road, Mumbai. We're talking and suddenly my 'guy' friend says 'You bitch' to my girl friend and I sit there absolutely shocked and tongue-tied amidst their laughter, till they notice my reaction and proceed to laugh more. Is this how casually we're going to let ourselves be called 'bitch(es)' or any other derogatory terms? "Oh, don't be so serious! Its just for fun". And then, this girl friend of mine proceeds to tell me a story of one of her friends who 'just couldn't use the F-word', and the one time she was so angry she said, 'Really, I am so angry'!
Honestly, somebody explain to this girl its NOT okay to let anyone call you a bitch or a F-word 'even if its only for fun'.
Language was not evolved so we could use it with such casual attitude. I always thought, we express ourselves better through language and nowadays the exact opposite is seen! These days, people express themselves through 'extreme emotions' or activities especially Extreme Sports. That's how you are supposed to vent out your anger or channelize it. And on the other hand, then you attend 'yoga' or meditation and claim to 'address' your emotions.
Are we really going to pass through these nascent stages of 'development' once again?
