I live in two worlds. One is a world of books. I've been a resident of Faulkner's Yoknapatawpha County, hunted the white whale aboard the Pequod, fought alongside Napoleon, sailed a raft with Huck and Jim, committed absurdities with Ignatius J. Reilly, rode a sad train with Anna Karenina and strolled down Swann's Way. It's a rewarding world, but my second one is by far superior. My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric, but supremely real, made of flesh and bone, full of love, who are my ultimate inspiration for everything.
Said Rory and I say the same! I've missed ME- my former self- my happy spirit, my cherubic laughs and go-get-it attitude'. I really have!
I wish someday years later when I read this post I'll realize I've always been my own person! I believe that it takes a lot of courage for any person to be himself- all with his eccentricities, his unfailing fighting spirit because everyone is fighting their inner demons and a battle every single day. I may even feel proud of my younger self in the future after trying to remember all the heroic 'battles' that I fought in my youth- throughout college, post-college and surviving the big bad world while negotiating my own terms, deciding and being firm on my values and morals and sticking true to convictions! I'll remember the people I trusted, believed in and waded through murky waters trying to find new ways of making the journey happier and easier through this chaos!
I'll thank whatever stars I've for my DAD who has filled our house and my life with love, laughter, never-say-die-attitude and books & music and his infectious spirit that has and continues to guide me through these incredible years of my existence! I hope to be the daughter who makes you proud by her good human contribution to this life that you've entrusted me with!
So, YES! Dreams do come true. Keep believing in yourself and trusting yourself! The world is yours to spread your wings and fly high! BELIEVE & YOU WILL!
